The Religion of the Crusaders

The Crusaders were all made up of Catholic Orders who served the Pope and went on crusades to restore order of an area and or convert the inhabitants of that area to Christianity. The Teutonics had some enemies such as Muslims and Russians. In away, Muslims did initiate the fight as they killed peaceful Christian missionaries . The Russians were Christians and had most of the same beliefs as Catholics, except they broke away from the Catholic Church. The Teutonic Knights had relatively peaceful relations with the Jews (most likely because they believed in the same God) and for the most part, if the Jews were compliant with Teutonic laws they both lived peacefully together other than being forced to convert to Christianity, which didn't always happen. The Muslims claim that the Teutonic Knights were brutal killers who burnt their homes and killed their people although the Muslims did the same thing to the Teutonic Knights and throughout history, Muslims are not known to be a very reliable source. And it's not like the Muslims never won a battle against the Knights and then did the exact same thing afterwards.
